Random Phenomena (coefficient of variation)?

a troubling engineering question is er... troubling me it's not really and out and out civil eng question, more in the reliability/statistics domain. any help much appriciated!

3 supports: A, B %26amp; C

each with respective settlements ρA, ρB %26amp; ρC which are independent normal variates with means 2, 2.5 %26amp; 3 cm and coefficients of variation 20%, 20% and 25% respectively.

what is the probability that the max settlement will exceed 4cm?

(and for bonus points - if it is known that A%26amp;B have settled 2.5 and 3cm respectively what is the prob that the max differential settlement will not exceed 0.8cm?)

any help or points in the right direction - i will be very grateful.

please don't reply saying "i don't know" etc if you dont know, don't reply :)

Random Phenomena (coefficient of variation)?
0, since the maximum variant you could possibly get is on support C, which would be 3 x 1.25 = 3.75 and therefore, it would be impossible to get a settlement exceeding 4cm.
