How long to ride a horse after having a c-section?
A month ago I had a c-section. I asked a question here and someone said not to ride my horse yet. Why is that not ok? I took my kids to the fair and was walking for 10 hours there. I went swimming aleardy with the ok from my midwife. I rode my horse a few times and push my stroller up a small hill. I gave my seven year old a piggy back ride. The c-section DID knock me out and I coulnd't move or walk far at all. But that was 4 weeks ago today. I feel great now. So why in my last question was I told not to ride my horse? It does not hurt. If I felt any pain or pulling I would stop... I have pain at the incision at random times throughout the day, but I was led to believe that is normal.

How can I make some simple graphic game in C, char to move up / down and shoot stuff.?
I want to make a simple game in C ( not C++ ) with a simple spaceship going up and down and to shoot other ships that com from the right of the screen. Everytime I shoot a ship, I should get a point. Everytime I shoot a ship another one should appear. I should have 3 lifes. Random speed for ships. Whenever a ship gets past me, I loose a life. I don't care about colours yet.

"Guess the number" in C#?
Hi. I created a website in c# (using visual studio), that contains a simple "guess the number" game. I have a textbox, a button and a label. It works so far only if I specify the number that needs to be guessed.
So the problem is - I want to generate a random number from 1 to 100 let's say, but as the user clicks the button, the page refreshes, and a new number is generated.
I want to keep the randomly chosen number until the user guesses it or quits. How can I fix this?

MAKING A C.D from my own discs to computer . how? please help.?
i am having a party and would like to make up a load of c.d's rather than hiring a d.j.
also i dont want to be messing about with discs all night long..... i want the music to be fluent, and enjoy ourselves and on just put the discs on random play. i dont know how to transfer some music from my own collection to empty discs on my computer
can anyone please help me with this.
i would appreciate it in simple terms, i am not an expert on computers!

A CD writer
Put the CD you want to record into the CD drive and click copy CD. When it finishes copying, it will eject and then you can put in the blank CD and it will copy the music onto the blank CD

6.) it should open up an empty folder. this is the blank cd.
7.) now open the folder with all your songs in it, and drag and drop the songs in to the folder of the blank cd. (make sure you only put 20 songs at most, as there is a limit of course to the ammount of time put on the cd)
8.) when you are done, it should have an option to burn the songs on to the cd.
try that and tell me how it goes.

well if your using windows, i would copy the music to a folder on your hard drive.
as long as you have a CD writer in your machine you just right click the folder and copy to what ever drive your CD writer is

All it is is one lead ...two connectors on one end for stereo input (auxillary) and one connector on the other end for the soundcard.
That is a much better solution in my opinion.

Possible c-section???
About 4 weeks ago I posted a question regarding some complications. The doctor and one of the P.A.s kept saying they were normal but they didn't feel normal. I finally switched doctors. (I am now seeing the doctor that runs the office instead of a random doctor they hired). I was supposed to see him yesterday but he was held up at the hospital. I saw a different P.A. I had never seen her before. I told her all the problems I have been having. She looked at my chart and then asked if I knew that I had a low lying placenta. I had no idea. She said they should have told me after my ultrasound 9 weeks ago! Apparently that is the cause of all my problems!!!
Well now I have a reason for all the issues. But I have a new problem. They are going to do an ultrasound in about 6 weeks to see if the placenta has moved. If it hasn't they will have to schedule a c-section. I'm terrified of being cut open. But I wouldn't be able to give birth vaginally because I could bleed to death.
Possible c-section???
I had a emergency c-section two months ago. Its not the birth experience that I had envisioned.... but it wasn't as bad as I had feared. You will be awake.... but you will be numbed. You won't feel any pain during the section. They will put a screen up so you don't have to watch them cutting you or pulling baby out. Once you hear that baby cry for the first time.....nothing else matters. They will continue to give you medication to control the pain while in the hospital and also send you home with some. It hurt after wards...... but not my incision...... just my whole stomach was really sore. Its hard for the first few days.... but you'll start to be able to get around better and better each day. It only took me a few weeks until I was feeling pretty good again.
If you do need a c-section..... don't be scared.... your having it because it is the safest way for you and baby to go through delivery. Also...... be sure to arrange to have some extra help while in the hospital and also after you go home. If will be hard to get up and down for at least a week. Don't worry..... I was terrified of having to have a c-section..... but when its happening you don't even think about it....... its goes by fast and next thing you know..... your holding that beautiful baby in your arms.

Reply:DW has had two c-sections and loved them... didn't have to go through the pains of child-birth. Of course that ment the recovery pains lasted a little longer, but luckly didn't require much pain medication once we left the hospital (your mileage may vary).
With a scheduled c-section, it is most likely that they will give you a spinal block. That basically means you won't feel ANYTHING down there nor be able to move your legs for about 6 hours (so yes, you are wide awake during the procedure).

It takes about a month or so to recover. The first couple of weeks you'll feel wierd and you will be in some pain, but if thats what it takes I think it's worth it. And so will you.

Well now I have a reason for all the issues. But I have a new problem. They are going to do an ultrasound in about 6 weeks to see if the placenta has moved. If it hasn't they will have to schedule a c-section. I'm terrified of being cut open. But I wouldn't be able to give birth vaginally because I could bleed to death.

I had a emergency c-section two months ago. Its not the birth experience that I had envisioned.... but it wasn't as bad as I had feared. You will be awake.... but you will be numbed. You won't feel any pain during the section. They will put a screen up so you don't have to watch them cutting you or pulling baby out. Once you hear that baby cry for the first time.....nothing else matters. They will continue to give you medication to control the pain while in the hospital and also send you home with some. It hurt after wards...... but not my incision...... just my whole stomach was really sore. Its hard for the first few days.... but you'll start to be able to get around better and better each day. It only took me a few weeks until I was feeling pretty good again.
If you do need a c-section..... don't be scared.... your having it because it is the safest way for you and baby to go through delivery. Also...... be sure to arrange to have some extra help while in the hospital and also after you go home. If will be hard to get up and down for at least a week. Don't worry..... I was terrified of having to have a c-section..... but when its happening you don't even think about it....... its goes by fast and next thing you know..... your holding that beautiful baby in your arms.

Reply:DW has had two c-sections and loved them... didn't have to go through the pains of child-birth. Of course that ment the recovery pains lasted a little longer, but luckly didn't require much pain medication once we left the hospital (your mileage may vary).
With a scheduled c-section, it is most likely that they will give you a spinal block. That basically means you won't feel ANYTHING down there nor be able to move your legs for about 6 hours (so yes, you are wide awake during the procedure).

HELP strange folders in c:\WINDOWS?
hi guys
i just got my computer formatted 3 days ago from a virus and went into c:\windows and at the top are all the light colored folders with blue writing insead of black and there are 119 of them and they are named ill list 3 random ones
and i dont remember seeing them there any other time

i got some more folders in c:\ 3 are CONFIG IO MS DOS
and all are 0 bytes can i delete these ?

Yes these are normal :) You need not worry. The files found on the root of your Hard Disk are normally unused - however do NOT delete these.
With regards to those folders found in C:\Windows... The text is in blue because it means that their contents have been compressed. Compress a folder yourself and the text is changed to blue. If the text is green it means that the contents are encrypted. Don't worry about that ;) Those folders are about Windows Updates and Service Packs.... Hope this helps ;)

okay i started my period or so i thought april 28th but it was so light started with spoting and then a litte blood for a few days only a little blood on the pad maybe enough for a pantey linar if even that.
im stressing out my back/chest and boob's hurt before the bleeding started and some light cramps im so scared out of my mind i know i can be pregnant and I am very moody cry at random times for little **** I can't tell my man **** he's dumb he just say's we'll find out month i live with him so we have sex like once a day unprotected .

Anyone know about C.DIFF?
Clostridium difficile a hospital superbug. I have had it. Is it true that antibiotics can help cause getting it (but not just random people, mainly if your ill old or young)?? I am taking antibiotics called Trimethoprim which i just read on a site is one of the antibiotics that can cause c.diff. And cause i have already had cdiff does it mean i am more likely to get it again when i got into hosp than say my sister who is healthy and isnt taken anything. I no being clean helps but i just want to no if i am at a bigger risk? I am in the hosp on tuesday.

We get this from our mothers, the nursing staff and other people we are exposed to. That's where Clostridium difficile comes in. Sort of like the supervillain running loose whe he thinks the hero is dead. Broad spectrum antibiotics kill out a wide range of bacteria including the normal protective flora when given by mouth. Flora gone, Clostridium starts to multiply, and doesn't stop until you have something called pseudo-membranous colitis (PMC), a severe infection of the colon.
Now when the doctors find out you have PMC, they stop the antibiotic right away, and give you Metronidazole, or another antibiotic known to kill clostridia species. After this, your normal flora grows back, and everything is like it was before.
The chance of you getting PMC is about the same as before, but higher than your sister while you are on the antibiotic and she isn't. PMC doesn't happen all the time, you were just unfortunate on the last occasion so I hope everything goes fine so you get better and go home soon. A hospital is a bad place to catch an infection.
Your ileostomy is another important risk factor for any GI infection, but I hope they can take it out soon. When did you first have this episode of colitis?

Is learning C programming that difficult?
I've been trying to teach myself C for some time now. I've gained a
good working knowledge of the basics. But, I seem to be stuck. Some of
the more advanced subjects (such as link lists, how the random
function generator works, etc.) are just not clicking.
When I see someone else's advanced source code, I find it hard to
decipher. I need a good reference book, learning software or perhaps,
an online course to take me to the next level. (As cheaply as
possible, I might add).
I would like to eventually move on to MS Visual Basic. I would like to
create some program applications to run under Windows. This may be a
little further down the road.
Can anyone make any suggestions?

A good book to read when trying to learn C#/C++ would probably be the "For Dummies" line of books/ebooks. Once you have everything within its binds to a good working knowledge, I would suggest purchasing a Wiley's book/ebook. The Wiley's brand of books provides a little more indepth knowledge into the functions and whatnot...
Wiley's also provides books on very advanced working knowledge of the programming languages.

Pain after c-section?
I had a c-section 15 weeks ago. It's healed up fine, no problems with infection or anything like that. But I still get random stabbing pains where the scar is. It's so bad sometimes that I have to sit down for a while. My son has his 4 month checkup in two weeks so I'm going to talk to our doctor then, but in the meantime I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced something like this, and if so, was it normal?

Hi there Ive had 5 c-sections and find its normal, often its just the scarring taking a while to heal, its not just the outter layers that need to heal too, theres all the inner layers also.

My mom still has random pains sometimes and is numb in certain areas almost 21 years after having her last one.
Its normal...it takes awhile for an incision like that to heal completely, and because of the process (having to cut through so many layers), you may have pain/numbness/itching for YEARS.

I would definetly talk to your doctor about it. I am sure though, that it will be fine long term, it may be some nerve damage that will lessen with time. I asked my doc and he said it's normal for those things to happen...he said i can control the bleeding and regulate my periods by going on this low dosage pill but i said no to that. i think it's normal to feel pain for a while..esp. since they cut thru like 7 layers to get to your baby..it'll take quite a while to heal. one thing i noticed that affected my pain is whenever i carried heavy items (such as a pack of 24 cans of pop), it hurt a lot more the next day...
Reply:I never had that kind of pain on my C-section and its been 7 months now. The first 2 months may be quiet tender but stabbing pains? Never. Only a slight itching when the top of pants touches the scar but never pain.

Based on your day to day activities, it may take a couple more months. My girlfriend had a C-Section with our daughter, and she was in pain for about 5 months. She's back to work now, and sometimes she complains about her stomach hurting every once in a while. She rested for about 4 months, then decided to go back to work. When she went back to work, thats when her pain started. Now its slowly fading. Our daughter is 9 months old right now, and she hardly complains anymore. Its a deep wound that has to heal with a lot of rest. Hope you start to feel better, and Congratulations on your baby! =o)

Gather his things together, hand them over to a friend who could then hold them for your ex. make out a list of pros and cons, see where you get the most marks out of each and then think about if you really want to go thru the hassle of a relationship. Sometimes it's good to be by yourself for a while, to see what things make you happy, sad, excited or upset. such as maybe on weekends you want to go explore musuems or travel around your town. How do I fix a high pressurized A/C system on my 2000 Chevrolet S-10?
I had a mechanic replace my exhaust headers a while ago on a 2.2 L 4-Cyl. Engine and he had to remove the A/C unit to get to it. Now when I tried to use my A/C system it is not cooling down as it did before and when I tried to add more oil/frion mix into the system, the gauge was telling me that there is well over 100 psi of pressure inside and that I obviously shouldn't add any more. During the process I had the system on Max A/C and the fan on high. In the middle vent there were small bits of sponge being blown through it. Through my random search of answers I think it might be the sensor that controls the compressor and tells it when to turn on/off. Any suggestions or ideas would help....

TRY THIS GUY, I HAVE PURCHASED MANY ITEMS FROM HIM THROUGHOUT THE YEARS AND SOMETIMES HE HAS A LOT OF OLDER PARTS AND ODDBALL PARTS, ALSO HAS VERY GOOD PRICING AS WELL AND IS A VERY FAST SHIPPER.

Reply:I am guessing that you are seeing 100 PSI on the low side...and the compressor is running??? It is WAY overcharged!! or the expansion oraface is plugged. Either way, it will not cool. You should see around 30-40 psi at 90 degrees ambient on the low side and around 250 psi on the high side. Hook up to the high side and see what you have.

C# client/server programming question?
So it is as the title says: a "client-server" type program. Basically the objective is that a client has to query a server (actually just two projects that are "talking" on port 8888 right now...) about some quotes that the server has stored in an array.
The client has three options to input in a text box: '1' displays a random quote, '2' displays all quotes present and '3' displays a command list (what I am typing right now).
I am pretty new to C# so I am having trouble grasping how a string can effectively be read in the server project FROM the client project. (I will parse to an integer after the server reads the "text" value)

Just like any other server ftp, telnet, ssh. The server project/daemon waits for the client to connect to the proper port, the client then sends a connect command or something similar to the server along with login information etc etc.

Well if the user types a command like "g:3".. it's your duty to determine what that means.. perhaps "g" stands for "get" and the colon indicates a parameter is coming next.. and the input of 3 is for the third quote.. as far as I understand what you are doing this is basic manipulation of the database.. so you would have stored procedure calls and again you are the ones to make the mapping of commands to the server..
if i knew more of what these commands were supposed to do I could be more exact in WHAT you want to do..

STORY A: a teenage girl dies and it's about her experiences in the afterlife. Only a little of teen partying.
STORY B: a historical taking place in Britain in the 1800s. a tough girl battles her past and a friend who wants to be more. Totally clean. Working on chapter three now.
STORY C: a modern story about a 22 year old woman who's life goal is to write a poem about love. So she dates men and when she can't write the poem she dumps them. Until she gets dumped first for the first time in her life. Very funny, mild language. Prologue and Chapter One are finished.

1. What is an unsigned int?
2. When writing a boolean expression are numbers (other than 0) and "true" interchangable? (ie. bool a = true; is the same as bool a = 23;)
3. Can a float be an integer? (ie. float a = 6;)
4. What are substrings and how do you use them?
5. What order do you do commands like %26amp;%26amp;, || and ! in?

A few C++ questions?
1) The difference between signed and unsigned is how the computer interprets a particular bit pattern. For example, take an 8 bit byte.
If you tell the compiler this is an unsigned byte, the values range from 0 to 255. A signed 8 bit integer ranges from -128 to +127. unsigned integers are %26gt;= 0, ranging from 0 to (2^n) - 1.
2) yes. In any statement that takes a boolean expression (if, while, for. ?, until) any non-zero numeric value is treated as true and 0 is treated as false.
3) Yes, floats can represent some integers. Because of the float representation, there are some integers float cannot directly represent (though small integers are fine).
4) This is a very open question. Technically a substring is any inner portion of a source string. If you have a char pointer that points to a source string, you can make another pointer that points to somewhere inside the source string. What you do with it is up to you. You can parse for words, search for a token. Who knows what?
5) || has the lowest precedence, then %26amp;%26amp;, and ! is the highest of the 3
6) You didn't list any commands, so your example:

I think so. Its not 100% intuitive, but I can remember writing code like 'if (count) { //do something }', but its been a while.

I think it has to be 6.0 (although assigning it to 6 might be okay, although it may be stored as 6.0). I am not 100% sure on that one.

Substrings I think are just parts of a string. You can pull out parts and do what you want with them.

I believe this is rand() or srand(int). The only difference is that srand takes a seed number that is used for calculating the random number. This is useful if you want to create a repeatable randomization. rand() always returns a different number. srand(100) always returns the same random number sequence.

1. An int that does not have a sign, like 99, 53, 24. -5, -34, -67 all have signs, the '-'. Basically, just any non-negative number.
2. Not really sure, why not try it?
3. I am pretty sure it can, but would be a slight waste of memory to declare it as one, but not use it as one, plus the range of numbers floats can handle is smaller than ints im pretty sure.
4. Substrings are parts of other strings. So, if you have the string "Hello World", you could say that "Hello", "World", " ", "ello worl", "lo wo", or any other part of that string.
5 %26amp; 6. I am not really sure I understand you... first of all, %26amp;%26amp; and || are in a separate category of operators from !. Also, you can use parentheses to group logical statements. So, (f || t) %26amp;%26amp; (t || t) would return true, but I am not sure how it would go without the parentheses. Yet again, just try it!
7. I think you need stdlib.h, and you can use srand(int) to seed the generator, and then when ever you call rand(), a random number will be generated. Remember! Computers can not create random numbers! Thus, in order to create more true random numbers, always seed the generator with something that will be unique each time the program is run, like the current time/date in milliseconds. Try it! do:
cout %26lt;%26lt; rand();
three times inside of a normal program with iostream and stdlib included. You will get the same numbers each time!
Now, add srand(someInt); near the top, and be amazed!
