,when taking a test like the ACT is there any strategy to questions you are filling in at random?

I recently took my ACT test as a pre-nursing pre-recquisit. I was unable to complete all of every test in the time allowed. Is there any rational or stratagy in coloring the dots in at random? I only missed passing it by a point last time. I have heard "c" is always best when you are guessing at a mult. choice test, however I'm quit lerry of answering all of them (that i have ran out of time for) with a "c". At this point my stratagy is a good dinner, go to bed early, eat brekfast before the test......any suggestions?

Always pick a over b unless it is a trick question.

Also, don't randomly answer the questions. Always take them in order and it is best to guess - even when you know the answer.
Reply:Standardized tests are tough to improve on. I don't have much of an opinion about choosing B instead of C when guessing, but I will give you one bit of advice that I guarantee will improve your score.

You need to practice taking the entire test at one sitting. You should set aside an entire day and treat it just like your standardized test days. Get a full practice test and plan on waking up at the correct time, eat food at the correct time and turn off your phone and sit and time yourself and take it properly. If you do this 2 or 3 times, you will certainly pass your test and will soon reach your goal of getting in to nursing school!
Reply:I would say that if you don't have a clue about the question guessing is not a bad thing. Suppose there are ten total questions that you know you got right and four question that you don't know the answer of and there are four answer choices for each A,B,C,D and they take off 1/4 for the question you got wrong right?

Currently you have 6 total points out of 10 right?

If you don't answer them you would still have 6 points.

What if you do answer them, suppose you pick B for each of them, according to law of Probability you should get one qestion right if you do then you have 7 out of 10.

And to count for the ones you got wrong 7-.25*3 = 6.25

Woohoo you are still up then you would have been

Good Job
