2005 Chevy Uplander A/C Fails?

Intermittently, the A/C of my 2005 Chevy Uplander turns off and blows normal fan air. Also, on occasion, the air output will change from dash air to floor air. This seems pretty random, but we can go days with no A/C before it starts working again. The dealership has looked at it numerous times to say, "We don't see any problems. Works for us."

I have been having the same problem. I took it in this weekend and while they couldn't find anything wrong, they said there was an updated controller program that they loaded which is supposed to address this sort of issue. They didn't charge me anything, not sure if that's because it's still under warranty or not. I would call and ask about the new software load if I were you.
Reply:Intermittent problems are almost impossible to find. You will have to wait until it fails completely, then they will be able to fix it.
Reply:I have a 2006 uplander. it had a low oil pressure problem at 300 miles.. Selling dealer said no problem.. Turns out it had a bad oil filter..My real problem was the trans.. four times in for service to hear no problem.. The computer didn't store any codes.. Took van to a small dealer 30 miles away..Service manager found problem in dealer lot when test driving with wife in van.. If you purchase your van from a large dealer find a small dealer for service. The small dealers go out of their way to please customers..I sorry I didn't buy mine from the small dealer..When in for repairs a customer walked in. and asked how many dealers ships do you own?.Salesman answered one..Customer ok I'll buy my new car here..Service will be better..

Your heater/ac control cluster needs to be changed. It's a vacuum problem...
